TEL AVIV, Israel, May 10, 2022 Eureka Security, an Israeli start-up securing enterprise cloud data growth, was selected among hundreds of candidates as one of the World Economic Forum’s “Technology Pioneers”.

“We’re excited to welcome Eureka to our 2022 cohort of Technology Pioneers,” says Saemoon Yoon, Community Lead, Technology Pioneers, World Economic Forum. “Eureka and its fellow pioneers are at the forefront of industries that are critical to solving some of our world’s most complex issues today. We look forward to their contribution to the World Economic Forum in its commitment to improving the state of the world.”

60% of enterprise data is now stored in the cloud. The proliferation of cloud data stores, as well as the rise of social engineering and cryptocurrencies, has brought on a new wave of security threats and attacks. This includes the recent Lapsus$ breach of Okta, Microsoft and Nvidia. According to Eureka CEO and co-founder Liat Hayun, “Security teams are struggling to gain visibility and control over this new problem with old approaches. All the while, sensitive company data is at risk of leaks, loss, destruction and exfiltration. By offering the tools required for full cloud data storage security without requiring deep expertise or manual overhead, security leaders can leverage unprecedented control over these assets without having to choose between security interests and business goals.”

Widening data security gaps are leading to increased market interest in data security. This January, Eureka raised an $8M seed round led by YL Ventures with support from industry luminaries such as Edna Conway (VP, Security & Risk Officer, Azure Hardware Systems & Infrastructure at Microsoft), David Hannigan (Director of Product Security Assurance at Google Cloud), Andy Ellis (Former CSO at Akamai Technologies), Maarten Van Horenbeeck (CISO at Zendesk), Assaf Rappaport (CEO at Wiz) and Ben Bernstein (Former CEO at Twistlock, acquired by PANW).

The Eureka Cloud Data Security Posture Management platform offers global businesses visibility and tools to control the proliferation of data in cloud stores— sensitive personal, financial, operational, information, IP and trade secrets, as well as a means to comply with complex regulations. This is a growing area of interest in an age following the near-complete digital migration of global enterprises, a strong consideration in the World Economic Forum’s selection process.

With Eureka’s selection as Technology Pioneer, Hayun will be invited to participate at World Economic Forum activities, events and discussions throughout the year. Eureka will also contribute to Forum initiatives over the next two years, working with global leaders to help address key industry and societal issues.

Eureka’s selection also marks growing representation of women-led companies recognized by the World Economic Forum, who make up over a third of this year’s Technology Pioneers. This is well above the true representation of women-led companies in the wider hi-tech industry.
